Question about the hp photosmart 245 photo printer?

I found this hp photosmart 245 mini photo printer in my house, but since it was my moms i dont know how to work it. All i have is the printer itself, and the cord that goes into my laptop. But it won't even turn on. I'm not sure what else i have to do, or if I am missing a cable or software or something, but help would be great!!

2. You will need the USB cable to connect from the printer to your computer :-) And you will need the AC power cable. That will get it to connect and windows will see it. Just go in the ADD wizard printer and select HP and model 245 and press ok. Make sure you are connected to the internet . It will scan the net for your driver. You may have to download it and extract it to a temp folder so you remember where it is. Then, select browse, and point to that directly, and windows will find the driver . Reboot and windows will tell you it found new hardware. OPen your word processor, select your printer and print.
