How do I install my HP Deskjet 970cse printer?

I don't have a disk for the printer. I tried downloading it using my windows program. I tried downloading it through HP's website. However, it always asks for me to insert the Windows XP CD. I don't have one, so now I can't get my printer to install. Help! I have Service Pack 3 installed already. My system is Windows XP Professional, if that helps. The printer worked on my old computer and that was Windows XP.

1. If it asks you to insert the windows XP CD means you don't have SP2 (service pack) Maybe not even SP1.Go to Microsoft's website and download it.After you install it your printer should be installed without problem
