Is there a generic driver for use with Kodak digital cameras and Windows 2000 professional?

I need a simple driver so that windows 2000 will recognize my Kodak digital camera. The Kodak EasyShare software is not compatible with 2000. I don’t need all that software. There must be a simple driver(s) that allow digital cameras and windows 2000 to communicate. Can you help?
