Vista isn't loading on HP notebook?
Ok, this is how it is. Last night after i hit the shut down button, the screen went blank but the system didn't exactly shut down, which i could tell since the media buttons were still active. After waiting for around 10 min i hit the POWER button to switch it off. Now when i try to restart it, the screen goes blank after the "Microsoft splash screen" which means the password login/finger print detection screen doesnt show up. I tried safe mode, system recovery and even the boot disk tht was supplied, nothin seems to be working. Plz help or my dad will fry me =[

- Your computer needs a doctor--make it an appointment and take it in. I did with mine and it works fine now.
- Well I reckon the hdd (hard disk) is dying. Well how old is your laptop? If it is 5 years or more it might be dying . If it is new maybe the laptop overheated . Wait for a few days keep it in an air conditioned room or in cool temperature and don't switch it on . Maybe something will work. Have you tried to BIOS ? Try setting up the boot menu to HDD first. Hope this helps. Or you can just call HP and let them know when your dad isnt around.
- This is happening to me as well. When you boot and the HP splash screen appears press F10 (I think) and once you are in the BIOS navigate to "Diagnostics" and click "Hard Disk Self Test", and test to see if your hard drive is in good condition. If it fails the test, either replace the hard drive, or take it to a computer specialist to see if they can fix it. Best of luck.
