HP Store Online

Is this return policy the same as in US/Europe?

I bought a Brother multifunctions from a reputable office supplies store in Bangkok, Thailand. Two days later I was dissatisfied with the color printing quality, so I have my local assistant called up the store and asked them if I could exchange for an HP (more expensive) and pay for the differences. They told me yes, but I've got to pay for the ink cartridges that have already been opened. I was just curious whether this policy is the same in US/Europe or this just happen in 3rd world countries???

  1. This is actually the same in almost every country in the world. You have used the materials and made them unsalable. Why on earth they would even take back the printer I don't know. There's clearly nothing actually wrong with it. You just have buyers remorse. The US retail market and it's free-for-all refunds and returns policies has bred a generation of me-me-me selfish and unrealistic consumers. You do realise a significant proportion of the cost of all hardware and a lot of non-hardware purchases is the cost of dealing with unsaleable returns from people like you? So those of us who research the products before buying end up paying a surplus to cover your laziness and fickleness?
