Can I upgrade my HP Pavilion laptop video card?

I have a HP Pavilion dv5-1000us with integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500. I don't play games like Crysis, but I do want to be able to play less demanding games and run CAD programs smoothly. Is there any way to add a new video card? I know the one I have is on-board so it can't be upgraded, but I do have an ExpressCard/54 slot if that would work. Any ideas?

  1. Sorry, my friend -- it's not possible to upgrade a video card in a laptop.
  2. Nope laptop video cards are upgraded through the mxm slot and since your mobo has a graphics chip soldered on it won't have the mxm slot.
  3. Get support from HP?as in u buy the video card, ask them to help u insert it.
