Which is the better computer brand for laptops? HP or Dell?

I need a laptop for college and was wondering if I should get an HP or a Dell. I feel kind of stupid for asking this because my major with be computer systems and technology, but never the less I feel the need to ask. So can anyone give me their expert opinion and why they feel that way?

  3. HP is the better brand. Dell has fallen deeply in it's respect. They have horrible tech support, terrible batteries for their laptop and they have a horribe tech support site to download updates to your drivers. While hp has of the best tech support websites. They make it very easy to downloads update for your computer. They have three online chat support, and free 1 hour response email support. Unlike dell which take 24-48 hours to get back with you.

  6. I suggest you consider getting a Macbook. I've owned both Dell PC's and Macbooks, and I find the Mac superior.

  8. Lenovo laptops were originally for business environments, like a work computer, so they are prteey stable, plus, its by IBM, and they have some great features too. HP is much better than Dell by far. Macs are the best overall-most sturdy and longest lasting (mine went 6 years with all the original parts, but i have to replace the hard drive now (its the older equivalent of the 17" macbook pro (the PowerBook G4 17")))
