HP Store Online

Hi. I am currently looking to buy my first laptop and was hoping someone here could suggest something.?

I will be using it for word processing, occasional photoshoping, basic web design and internet access. I’m not planning of storing hours and hours of video or anything but would like a reasonable amount of memory and not less than 3Gig. Price wise I’m looking to spend around the £450 mark). Are there any laptops on the market that suit my needs and wallet size or am I living in cloud cuckoo land? (I looked at the ‘buying a new laptop’ thread for info but it seemed a bit outdated) I’ve been looking at these so far http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/product/seo/354908 http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/product/723600/?camp_id=ppc_google_long_tail_laptops_hp_g70212em or the Gateway T-6836 (can’t find this for sale in the U.K though) Are any of these suitable or does anyone have any other suggestions. Thanks!

  1. No Problem at that budget: Unless you need tons of video or some other feature overkill for your studies, find a sale from a major marketer. Best Buy has them every week, consider your budget, and go for a mid-sized, full-featured model. Again, wait for a sale on the mid-ranged ones. Your MS Office, Photoshopping, whatever will run, and at a decent speed. Sorry, you will not be able to play Crysis... Brand is a non-issue based on your question and so would be the processor brand. You want bang for buck. No Atoms or Celerons but not quads either. If battery-life and lots of wireless are concerns; lean a little toward the Centrinos.
