any good children's digital cameras out there?

Can anyone tell me a good experience they've had with a digital camera they bought for a child? All the reviews I read seem to say all digital cameras made for kids are cheaply made, poor quality cameras. Thanks! It's for my niece. She is under 12 but she cares very well for all of her things and this would probably be supervised by an adult. Her pictures are actually really good and she can use the adult camera well, but it's hard to let her use a $500 camera.

1. all the reviews are correct, so pay attention to them i child will drop it and break it, so at least they are cheap a
2. Would help to know the age of such a child, if they are under 12, you'll want a cheap one, as I doubt they would be able to care for it.
