What is a good affordable color laser printer that does not have a toner kill chip?

I am looking for a good, affordable color laser printer that doesn't stop functioning just because a cartridge is empty. I have had some problems with Samsung CLP printers doing this and it is pretty aggravating, especially when I do not have loads of money to spend replacing all 4 cartridges. I would like to find a printer where this is not a problem.

Sorry, but all of the mainstream color lasers have "smart" toner cartridges. Rumor has it some are hackable.

Deskjet printers are manufactured to stop running if one of the cartridges is empty. This is to protect the print head that goes to the empty cartridge. Laserjet printers are manufactured to stop printing if one of the toner cartridges goes empty. HP makes the best printers for both home and office. But even theirs are manufactured with this technology. If you can manage to afford a small color laserjet, you'd be better off in the long run.
