Buying computer accessories, I need help and advice.?

I need help in a couple areas. First and important, I need to know if I should try to hurry up and have a cord sent to me before my flight, in 6 days, to Spain, and wonder why I forgot to seek an adaptor from HP is that necessary, or will a common adaptor there be enough? To use the battery cord I don't know if I'm calling it the right word -- the cord that charges the computer up from the wall, so you can use it WIFI ...I'm a dinosaur trying to get hip. I also need to know if its better, generally to try to find an HP store itself to buy products, or do it online, what's better? I hope I don't need any equipment, but if I don't have the correct cord, how could I get equipment sent to me quickly, ASAP to say, Spain, or perhaps Italy, either. Another thing that could be reason to take care of where I purchase, or how, is I don't speak the local language well, maybe where I go there will not be very fluent in English, and I am sadly not fluent in theirs .... but I thought buying might help ingratiate myself to the locals which wuold be nice in itself. Any advice is appreciated; I'm very awkward socially, and very illiterate technlogicaly. Thank you in advance.

1. i got good news for you, spain and italy both have lots of engish speaking people. the cord that came with your laptop will work both for 110v and 220v, all you need is the proper wall adapter. im not sure if you are staying in a hotel or not, but most hotels i have stayed at all over the world are aware of their international visitors needs and have the adapters you need on hand. also many times i have just asked for the nearest hardware store, usually in the mall nearest the hotel, and i have gone and purchased the adapters i needed. have fun
