Which of the following HP Laptops is better?
a.) HP Pavilion dv5z series -$579.00 b.) HP Pavilion dv6700t series $629.00 c.) HP Pavilion dv5t series $749.00 Which of the above will serve as a useful college laptop? I didn't really see any differences among the three, but I'm assuming there has to be some major differences because of the major price differences. Thanks!

- I am a university student and experienced laptop user. I JUST ordered the dv5t like two days ago. The differences: Computer A is running an AMD processor. Computer B is running the older Intel Core 2 Duo Processor. Computer C is running the latest Intel Core 2 Duo Processor. Their is a big debate as to which is better: AMD vs Intel. AMD will always be cheaper. But my rule is to stick to what you know best and what has served you well. I have always used Intel processors and have never had a problem with any of them so I stuck with Intel. I would go with the dv5t, obviously, because it is the best out of the three. If you order through hp.com you will be able to customize it. Its a great computer and hp has an academic purchase program so you can be eligible for a discount if your school is a participant. I did a side by side price comparison when I ordered my Hp laptop. Computer A (AMD version) and Computer C (intel version) actually came out to be about the same price after I customized them to the specifications I wanted. Email me if you have any more questions in regards to Hp laptops!
- The Z at the end stands for AMD processors, the T stands for Intel processors (yes, I know it is silly). The difference between the DV6700T and the DV5T is the latter has the higher end hardware choices. It has the new graphics card series choices.
- Like Gzus said t stands for Intel and those particular 2 have Intel Core 2 Duo proccessors which are at the slowest 2.0 Ghz, the fastest AMD can get is 1.9 Ghz, so I would probably get B and if money is no matter computer C.
