Printers don't work since I attached them to my new computer?
I have a new HP laptop with Vista. I have an old Epson EPL-8000 laser printer and a new Lexmark X1240 3-in-one printer. They worked on my old laptop, but on this new one the Epson prints one line of giberish on the top of the page, the Lexmark does nothing. I'm pretty dumb about all of this technology. Yes, they are both connected to the computer. Sorry, tried both of your suggestions and a lot more things which didn't work either.

- go to www.hp.com and download the driver for Vista put your model # in and do a search click on vista drivers and install. do the same for the Lexmark, go to www.lexmark.com and do the same as above then when you want to run a printer go to printer control center and choose which printer you want as the default. that should do it.
- 1) click on start 2) click on printer and fax 3)uninstall printer software 4)unplug printer 5)plug printer 6)install printer software if your windows application doesn't recognize it. Should work now (oh remember make sure you have ink)
- thats the shi*ty thing about vista. Its still full of crap. Anyways, try updating the device driver for the printer cuz since it is old, it might not be compatible with ur current operating system. Stick to Xp sweetie.
