Dell Laser 1700 Printer Paper Jam?

I'm not sure how this originated, since I came in to help later, but there's paper stuck past the toner and the roller, so it's in the top back before it comes out onto the top/tray. We tried to get it out by taking the roller off, but it tore, and tried to pull it out of the back, but it's curled up behind the two rollers that push it up onto the top of the printer. Is there another piece I can take out ot get to the paper without taking the whole printer apart? Or is there another way? Any help would be greatly appreciated
