Dell 1110 Laser Printer drivers not seeing printer?

Hey people, sorry for yet another "printer not working" problem, but it's the truth :) I have a Dell 1110 laser printer, and a Dell Inspiron 1520 laptop running Vista Business. The printer has worked on it before, after installing drivers from Dell's driver CD. However, I reinstalled Vista last week. I thought that although I had lost Dell's CD, I wouold just download them. I found the drivers, of course, but they won't see the printer, even though it is connected and on. I've tried using a shorter USB cable since that sometimes helps, but no go. Any ideas? Has this happened to you? Thanks!

1. make sure you have/download the latest printer driver for your operating system (vista 32 bit or 64 bit?) then click start, click printers and faxes, add printer then follow instructions from there (when it does prompt for driver, load the driver you downloaded from dell website) good luck!!!
