How do I hook my Dell 1600n Laser Printer to my network through an ethernet cable rather than through a PC?
I have a Dell 1600n Laser Printer on my network. Previously I had it hooked up to a PC that acted as a server for my printers. I'd like to now hook up this computer directly to the network through a ethernet cable. How do I do this?

- You will need a print server. The printer itself has no ip address therefore you can't send information directly to it. Before you sent the information to the ip address of the computer and the printer was given information from that. The print server will do the exact same thing, without buying a computer dedicated to printing. It will run you probably 25-50 bucks. They also make wireless print servers in case you decide against running the cord.
