How is it for us to take pictures with our digital cameras of the lightnings?

I only know that in case there is a thunderstorm, it`s not wise to use your mobile phone or your landline but digital cameras......

1. I wouldn't if the digital camera is expensive. Static & water may severely damage the camera. A rubber armor camera shouldn't give a shock unless directly struck by a lightening bolt.
2. Mobiles are safe to use during a thunderstorm, lightning will not travel along the radiowaves to shock you? A landline is very dangerous because it provides a medium for the lighting to travel down. A digital camera is safe to use as well, provided its not tall and made of metal!
