usability of Minolta magicolor 2300w laser printer?

To go on, I was offerred that printer, they said it needs a drum, they said it comes with color cartridges. I haven't had a laser printer. I want hook it to a laptop. Are they expensive to use? Are drums expensive? Otherwise I would buy a cheap inkjet printer. I print but not an incredible amount. Is this a dependable printer? Should it come with software? Would it be just less expensive to just get an inkjet?
