is hp laptop a good laptop?

it has tv tuner, dvd, webcam, 3 gb memory and 250 hard drive it was on sale at best buy and i bought it for 600 plus tax. is it better than sony vaio with 1 gb memory and dvd and no extra features for 420 plus tax?

2. yes that HP sounds much better. 1gb won't get you that far on Vista these days. For general use, that HP laptop would be great. Sony Vaio's tend to be overpriced, just like Mac's. Even though I own a MacBook, but i love it ;) lol
3. Other than buying it from Best Buy it is okay. Just be prepared for the worst when the Geek Squad "works" on it for anything. Don't have anything personal on it as tghey snoop through your harddrive. Big court case on them snooping and copying personal stuff.
4. Good buy.
5. HP and their low end brand Compaq are much better then what they used to be, but as some one else already advised ,steer clear of Geek Squad.
