What is the most reliable brand of laptop? Toshiba or HP?

I want to get a laptop on Friday because of the sales. I just need it for basic things, internet, typing. The cheaper the better but I want something reliable. I am looking at Toshiba or HP, but open to suggestion.

3. I'm in the same predicament man, stuck between Toshiba and HP. From what I hear, HP is reliable and pretty common. Everyone I know that owns one, lives by them. As for Toshiba, I love how sophisticated, professional, and sleek they look. So IDK, but I think I am gearing towards HP myself.
4. i have the same problem idk if i should get the $349 HP laptop at office depot or the $379 Toshiba at best buy this friday, they have the exact same specs but idk which is more better im leaning towards teh hp right now because of the price haha
