How do I print a large image over multiple pages?

I am using a new(ish) mac and have an HP printer. I want to print a large low resolution image over several sheets of paper but cannot figure out how. I know my computer like 15 years ago could do it so it seems strange that this one cannot. If necessary I will download a software but preferably something free, free to try or very low cost. I also have a laptop with windows xp on it that does not work that great anymore I could print it off if someone knows how to do that.

1. first i need details how large do you want it how many pices of paper basicly what you do is take a paper with is 8 by 11 multiply it buy the number of sheets 1, 4 ,16 ect. then when you get your measurement... open photoshop download a free trial from adobe.com enter the mesurement you came up with...then stretch the picture to fit .....then you use the crop tool and type in 8 by 11 crop each section and then pint each one individualy if you need my help you can reach me on aim or msn aim:johnjohn51392 msn:johnjonh_51392@hotmail.com email is the same as msn
