power cord for hp pc laptop?dv6000?

Hey My power cord is all messed up, the part that connects into my computer is basically falling apart and I need a new one. I guess I will have to buy the whole brick and everything but radio shack doesn't seem to carry this thing. I am not computer savvy in any way. Are there stores that would carry them or do I have to call the manufactuer? Thanks-

1. You may be able to find a new "brick" or AC power supply at electronic supply stores or office supply stores. They're usually universal these days and will fit to almost any laptop. 2. wal-mart sells hp and carries the power supply.
