how many sheets of paper can a toner cartridge print out?

i'd like to know if it will be cheaper to keep my ink printer or buy a new toner because i keep buying ink every month?

1. Completely depends what brand, how high the quality is of the text/image, and the printer.
2. Well, my HP1100 (an old LaserJet) does about 7000 (with econo mode on) per toner cartridge. Bottom line is that if you print mostly Black & White, a Laser printer is the way to go...it will save you time and money. Edit: Even the most inefficient laser printer will print more pages per dollar than an inkjet.
