Are HP laptops good for everyday use and for schoolwork?

I am going to buy a laptop soon and I was thinking about an HP one. Should I go for a different brand? My budget is about 650 dollars, but I still want a really good computer to last me all through high school. Does anyone have negative comments about HP computers or any positive feedback? Should I go for it? Please respond!

2. HP is very good. im on a HP laptop right now. ive had it since August 08. it has Windows Vista and i absolutely love it. you should also have enough money. mine was 500 something. good luck man.

4. HP's are good i got one for 500 dollars with xp in it back when xp was new and i still use the thing for college
5. HP computers are pretty good... just make sure not to get Vista systems
6. im on my hp laptop right now and i love it ive had it for about two years with minimal issues its a very good comp for your money mine was around 700 but it has dropped since then i believe but hps are the way to go

8. Hey I've been looking for a laptop to for awhile and have seen some pretty good HP's. So like if it's 650 bucks your lookin at then i would go with HP and look at like bestbuy and costco. Good luck...
9. yeah hp is good. i love hp so much i have an hp laptop, desktop computer camera and printers. one thing i will advise on is DO NOT get one with windows vista! vista sucks windows XP is good. vista is complicating hard to figure out and work. and its slightly slow. if that makes sense.
10. Yea. HP laptops are good laptops. with that cash you can get a decent HP or Gateway Laptop.
