We use Dell corporate wide. 2 years ago we bought nothing but 1710dn printers. Toner was about $60. Then dell replaced that model with 1720dn. Toner went to about $80, plus I then had to carry stock on both toners. NOW, Dell has replaced the 1720dn with another model. The toner is now $100. I'll now have 3 different models of printers and I'll need to stock 3 different toner carts and build my images with three sets of drivers. I'm ready to end this madness. Has anyone found a good laser printer that is produced year after year without model upgrades? A big plus would be if it had a reasonably priced toner cartridge too. I suppose it's just the world we live in, but I feel that Dell's constant model switching and escalating toner costs are getting to be a bit much. Go look at the guts of a 1710dn and then a 1720dn printer. They specifically "keyed" the 1720 to not take 1710 toner. Who has a solution?
