Windows vista 32 or 64 bit?
I'm getting a laptop from HP's online store and I could get Vista 32 or 64 bit with no differences in price. The specs are 4GB RAM, processor intel core duo T9400 (2.52GhZ). Which OS should i get? I'm planning on using the pc for everything pretty much, surfing the web, school usage, watch videos, a little of gaming...

- I changed the vista in all my computers (7) from 32 to 64 and ALL of them perform way better and are more stable than they used to with Vista 32-bit.
- 32 bit wins hands down i have a toshiba laptop that came with 64 bit vista none of my older programs would run on it i had to buy the 32 bit version of vista and now everything works Again
- 64 bit. You need the 64 bit version to use all the 4 GB of RAM. The 32 bit version tops out at something like 3.2 GB.
- Hi, At the moment the 32bit architecture is just fine because everyone supports it. You'll find the 64bit architecture works fine too, but in reality there are not a lot of advantages yet because hardware manufacturers and software developers have not really designed a lot yet for this. However, when they do, then you'd definately notice an increased performance all round. Regards, TgTips
