Need help installing my HP Plotter?

I'm trying to install my Hp Designjet 500ps plotter....i put the software in and install it, but when i go to print something it doesn't print and says theres an error. its connected directly to my computer via ethernet cable, am i doing something wrong?!? some1 please help. thanks.

1. Hi Why not connecting it via the USB cable ? If it works, then we can resolve the issue. Also, a JetPrinter would speed up the output immensely.
