Why is the HP G60-230us laptop so cheap?
The average HP laptop is like, 799.99$, but this one is 499.99$. What's the difference? What's so bad about it that it's cheap?

- I checked it out here: http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/HP-G60-230us-16-Widescreen-Laptop-G60230US/sem/rpsm/oid/233244/catOid/-12963/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do 1. It has a mail in rebate. 2. It is a old model that is being replaced and they are clearing out stock. 3. It has integrated video (dont plan on doing any gaming)
- you get what you pay for its called life
- Maybe has a cheaper graphics card, not as good processor, or low ram.
- one big difference is that the $499.99 has pentium processor, which is the previous generation of processors. the $799.99 would either have a faster processor or core 2 and in some cases core 2 duo. G60-230us has a weaker graphics capabilities, and the graphics card uses shared memory.and it doesn't have some of other goodies like S-Video out. here is one review on G60-230us: http://gosublogger.com/2009/01/hp-g60-230us-review/ Except for the weak graphic, which would help performance of high def movies or games, it is a good laptop. The Pentium Dual Core is still very powerful and 3gb of ram is more than plenty. You will still be able to watch high def movies and play games with exteme graphics. I would say it is a good buy if you like wide screens.
