What Company Makes the Best Digital Cameras?

There are a lot of companies pumping out digital cameras today, but I want one that I know will last a while, and take quality pictures. I was thinking about getting either a Kodak or a Cannon, since they seem to make the best cameras, but I'm not sure. Any suggestions will help. Thanks

As an avid photographer, I do not like Kodak. The manual settings are very limited. I prefer upper end Canons, Nikon, or Panasonic.

Canon. Many sources & reviews show this, and their market share shows wide popularity. Canon also sponsors *totally free insturction sessions at National Parks and others events with their top staff and consulants- really impressive.
As a amateur photographer, I prefer to use either Cannon or Nikon digital cameras. I feel that Kodak and Fujifilm do not offer all the manual settings that Cannon and Nikon have to offer. Sony cameras are often thought to have a bad reputation, but that is not true. I find that they take excellent photographs. You are probably best off with a Cannon or Nikon, in my opinion!
