What graphics card should i get with a Hp Pavilion a6220n PC?

I have a HP Pavilion a6200n OC with: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor e4500 2048 Ram 400 Gb and a power supply of 250 or 300. What kind of graphics card should i get and what are the chances that it will short out or damage my computer?
