Need help connecting a HPLaserJet1100 to a new PC?

Hi - A friend just bought a new compaq pressario PC. Her printer is very old - HP LaserJet 100. It has an old style (parallel?) printer connection. The new pc only accepts USB port. Any ideas on whether or not she can adapt the connection somehow. HP tech support said there was a different cable she could buy, but I have not been able to find it in the parts store online. Help, please, thanks!

1. just go to walmart and buy a cheap-o HP printer for like $25. and the cheapest cable you can get too. and you don't have to worry anymore.
2. go to electronic shop and ask for a twin-box sub(stitute) ,parallel conection printer - usb. good luck !
