amd turion 64 x2 or intel pentium dual core t3200?

I am looking at the sales on black friday and bestbuy has a toshiba laptop with 3gb of ram and 160gb hard drive, it is a AMD turion 64 x2 dual core processor. It is 379.99. Then Circuit city has a hp laptop with 2gb of ram and 160gb hard drive. It has Pentium dual core t3200 processor. It is 399.99. Which is a better buy? Also for $100 more at best buy you can get the Toshiba with 4gb of ram and a 250gb hard drive. I will pretty much be using the computer for school, and internet surfing. I want a fast computer that will last me a couple years. What do you all think???

  1. The Toshiba is the best bet, although I do not like Best Buy for some of their previous practices. All of these will suit your needs.
  2. Intel currently make better chips, but having large amounts of ram is always good when using vista, as a fully featured version will probably use about 1gb when idle.
