How can I connect my desktop to wifi?

I have a HP Pavillion Media Center m8120n (http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&q=HP+m8120n+accessories&cid=2502416967100561564#ps-sellers) Know, earlier this year I connected it via router from the living room but decided to buy a wireless router and hook it up to the computer and TV. The router worked for a few months until the computer stopped getting connection from it. I want to use certain ipod & itunes apps. Such as Remote but I cant use it unless the desktop is connected to WiFi so I can control my itunes library by my ipod touch. How can this be done?
