HP power supply questions.. please read?

Hey guys so yeah the power supply on my new HP is 300 watts, it cant take the new video card im getting for it which is the geforce 9800 gt.. so im upgrading the power supply. i was wondering if a bfg 550 watt power supply from best buy would fit and work in my computer : heres my computer : http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopping/computer_can_series.do?storeName=computer_store&category=desktops&a1=Category&v1=Versatile+performance&series_name=a6660z_series thanks alot! maybe you can go on bestbuy.com and find a power supply that is above 500 watts that would go well with my computer thank you!!!

  1. Any ATX power supply will work, just be sure that you have the correct pinout on your motherboard for the power header connection. Most modern PSU's come with a 24pin connection where older motherboards have 20pin/20+4pin connections. So just be sure you motherboards power header pinout and the power supply's power connection is matched. 550 watt should be more than enough for what you need, unless you add another hard disk or 2.
