how do i do a photo copy on an hp printer?

i have gone through all the directions. it copies but it has thick grey lines down the page why is this?

1. You might have to clean your printhead or do an alignment. Also, if you are printing on photo paper, make sure you choose that if you have an option to choose paper type.
