I have used non genuine ink cartridges in my photosmart 2575 all-in-one, now it does not display the ink level?

Is there any way you can reset or confuse a HP Photosmart 2575 All-in-One into thinking a genuine HP ink cartridge as been installed instead of a cheaper replacement. These ink cartridges are brand new not refills.

  1. they do not have the chip installed that tells you how full it is, thats one of the reasons they are cheaper . you can refill them yourself . just get a refill kit for next to nothing. you will never get them to say full as the chip will have died when it hits empty.
  2. thats odd. it should be working alright, unless the ones u bought are corrupt or something. Check whether you installed them properly
  3. Your printer may not recognize the correct ink levels because it is holding the memory from the previously used cartridges. However, a printer reset should resolve the recognition problem. To reset your printer please follow these instructions: • Remove ALL cartridges • Turn off printer • Unplug the printer from the power source for a full 5 minutes • Reverse steps. Plug back in, turn on printer and install all cartridges
