why do photos come out blurry and dark with other photo paper but not HP photo paper?

I have all HP printer all in one and when I try to print photos using HP paper, they come out all nice and good, but when I use any other brand, the quality of the photos suck! why so? thanks.

1. Two answers could explain your problem. Some photopapers are one sided, if you use the wrong side, they are bad. Also if you are using a "budget" brand, it may not be the quality you need, and you could have your printer settings wrong for a different brand. I get great results from Epson Matte doubleweight photo paper.
