Trouble with HP C4480 Printer + Windows xp?

I just bought this printer. Three in one, printer, copy , scanner. Well I installed the cd, tried to print a page of microsoft word. When it came time to print the printer just took the paper and brought it out blank without even attemepting to copy. The Copier works just fine as i was able to make copies of pages I scanned. I now believe that it cant possibly be the printer because i had it replaced at the store and the new one does the same thing. Whats wrong with the computer? Printing things off the internet nor microsoft word or anything else for that matter doesnt work. Thank you When I had a test page done the paper went through the printer but nothing else. I used the cd and the usb was connect the whole time, its connected now. My computer recognizes the printer and that its connected.

  1. 1. Sounds like the drivers at not installing correctly. 2. Since the Copier works, that tells me all it "ok" with the ink. 3. When you go into Printers in the Control Panel, is the printer listed there? Are there "multiple copies"? If there is only 1 printer listed. Try right mouse clicking on it and then click on properties. Click on "Print Test Page" and let me know what happens. Did you use the Add New Hardware wizard when you installed the drivers, or did you run the setup up program off of the CD, plugging the printer into the USB plug when prompted? --Will watch for additional details and will update then. Update: So when you printed the "test page" from inside windows, the page went through, but it was blank when it came out. Suggestion: Through Add/Remove programs, remove the printer drivers. Un-plug the printer from the USB port at the back of the computer and reboot. Go into Add/Remove Programs and Device Manager in the Control Panel and make sure the printer is not listed. Download these drivers: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-57266-3&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3418705&os=228&lang=en Then run the setup program. During the install, it will instruct you to plug in the printer. When you do Windows XP will come up saying "Found New Hardware" and the wizard will come up. Cancel out of the wizard and finish the install program from HP. If it still does not print after this, contact HP. It could be the USB cable.
