Why printers use CMYK color model instead of RGB?

Why printers use CMYK (subtractive) color model instead of RGB (additive) color model? Is CMYK more economical than RGB, or what is the reason? Thank you in advance.

  1. simple answer easier and cheaper to fill + its more widely used
  2. RGB is how you mix colors when working with light. The printer cannot print in lights, it has to use ink.
  3. CYMK spectrum is the common print spectrum. CYMK is used for light absorption, RGB is used to light reflection. It has everything to do with the way in which light interacts with the media and nothing to do with price.
