Laser printer pages print solid black on bottom third of page.

I have a Lexmark T430. Worked ok for a long time, but then toner ran out. I bought an OEM Lexmark toner, replaced it and tried to print out the printer settings from the printers internal settings. The top 1/3 of the page prints text, but the background is streaky (sp?). The bottom 2/3 of the page are solid black. Is this fixable ? Thanks for any help.

1. The first part is easy, did the shake the cartridge before installing it? The second part sounds as if you have a faulty cartridge. any cause I can think of would do this on the whole page and not just the bottom 2/3 Take the cartridge back and tell them what is going on. if the replacement does it you have a PSU problem.
