  1. I think it's cntrl+F11 when its booting or it's F10 (repeatedly), that resets the hardrive, do you just want to hard boot? Then hold the powerbutton down a few seconds
  2. Did your computer come with a recovery disk? If so, insert the disk and boot from the disk and follow the instructions. If there is no reset CD (or you lost it) try contacting the place where you got the laptop and sometimes you can get help there. Probably your best bet is to install some antivirus program on the computer and let it handle the rest.
  3. You can perform a "hard" reset by removing the battery for a minute or so. However this will not erase or change any settings or remove a virus. What you need to do is get your operating system disc (windows xp or whatever) and start up with the cd. When you do that you will have the option to repair or reinstall windows. If you don't have anything important on your computer, format it. Otherwise just reinstall windows on top of itself and when you load windows, use a virus removal program. All of these options become available when you boot up with the cd. If you need any more help, let me know.
  4. Reboot ur laptop ........at startup press f10....u'll see a step by step process to do wat u need
  5. You can also check if you have a "Recovery Manager" (just do a search), go there and follow the directions. You might have a factory restore backup partion on your hard drive.
  6. Start, All Programs, and then HP Tools. Select HP PC System Recovery. The Recovery screen will appear with the question Do you really want to start HP PC System Recovery? Click Yes, to continue the recovery process. When the Recovery screen appears, click Next To perform a destructive recovery, click Advanced, and then click Yes.
