Lines in color prints on a epson c60 printer.?
Hi I have changed both carts and run the head cleaner about a million times. I still have bad lines in my color prints. Can you take the printer head out and clean it? Has anyone else had this problem and if so what did you do? Thanks Al T.

- Hello, You have a complex problem there with a simple solution here. 1. Turn on the printer or open the cover of the printer and the cartridge carrier will move out of the parked position. 2. As it is doing this unplug the printer before it completes the cycle (this will leave the carriage movable by hand). 3. Remove the cartridges and place to the side. 4. Take a paper towel and fold it in half. 5. Dampen the towel with warm water (it should not be dripping though). 6. Place the towel in the paper path directly under the carriage's travel area. 7. Gently push the carriage over the towel and you will notice ink appearing on the paper towel (this was causing the problem of lines you had!). 8. Remove the towel, reinstall the ink cartridges and restore the power to the printer. You should be all set now! Good Luck!
- go to printing prefences and select maintinence menu at the top. There is an icon that says head cleaning. Press the button and your printer will clean itself. Rember that epson printers use ink that do not have a print head. Instead, the head is in the machine. Removing the ink will make it spill. If you wipe the head, traces of dust will not clean your head but clog the head with dust.
- The only way is to unfortunately keep with the cleaning. The printhead is hardwired into the printer and cannot be physically cleaned. Unfortunately it may be time for a new printer, you have a 5-7 year old epson printer.
