- Ok the problem with it is that the inkjet is not been inserted properly into ur printer. I had the same problem.. Just try taking out the inkjets or cartridges& fitting it in again..
- Try these things: 1. Shake the toner cartridge. Sometimes what will happen is the toner will glop up and if you shake and break it up, it shouldn't leak. 2. Your laser assembly may be malfunctioning, causing more toner to be applied than should be. The photo receptor drum may not be moving at correct speeds or distances. 3. Your toner cartridge may be bad. If you have another, switch it out. You can (and it does happen) get a bad toner cartridge.
- you could be using thin paper, I know with the HP laserjet 2600n I get more paper jam, smudges, print errors, etc when I use just any plain white paper. 1. try new thicker paper 2. Buy the paper cleaner where you run it through and it cleans the toner.
- Most likely the Photosynthetic drum is wearing out. Laser printers work by shining a laser on a light-reactive drum. After a period of time, these drums wear out and can cause smudges like that. Another possibility is that the fuser is wearing out. But if that was the case, the text would smudge when you touch it.
