  1. HP does not make customized laptops. They are all pre-configured. Dell however makes customized laptops, but that is online.. Your best bet is to find someone in town who knows what they are doing and can get the best priced base system, and then add all the extras that you want. Circuit City, Best Buy and Staples all have 'techies' who, for a price, will add extra bits and pieces to anything you buy, whether from their store or not. Honestly it would be cheaper to Dell or somewhere online (a laptop system buider) and have them put all the bells and whistles in for you. It will save you money in the long run. Good Luck!
  2. The best way to handle it is to go to the HP website and find one that is the closest to what you like, then call the HP sales rep and tell him how tight your budget is...blah...balh..blah, but I really need to step up some things in this one and cannot afford to pay full retail prices, what can HP do to help me. My sister did that and she got a lot of free upgrades after she agreed to pay for a couple of higher end hardware products. Doodad And remember...always buy an extended warranty.
  3. hi if you want custom laptops, why would you want HP????? they are for normal people, if you have the money, then go to ALIENWARE, they have what you are looking for, or if you want really high end stuff then go to ASUS
  4. The first person is wrong HP does sell customized laptops. If you have a Costco membership you can go there and order a customized laptop. I did. Its an HP too... Why are you stressing the fact that you want to buy in the store? Juck asking... Costco's customer support is great, and everything about HP's is great. I did a comparrision with mine and a Mac. I have all of the same features a Mac does except for the OS
