- HP was bad now there FAST or COMPAQ I have a compaq My brother has a HP i wish i had his HP LOL
- HP's do work well but if you might want to customize your laptop, I would say you should get a Dell because you really get to choose what kind of laptop you really want.
- I think Gateway has good laptops they are made by Toshiba. Don't like Dell or HP. This is a great place to buy laptops just pick out the features you want. http://www.newegg.com/Store/SubCategory.aspx?SubCategory=32&name=Notebooks-Laptops
- hps are very nice...but one system that is impressive is Toshiba Laptops
- I've had bad luck with my HP laptop. Within a few months, the DVD drive stopped playing DVDs. Shortly after a year, the speakers died and now my power button doesn't work. HP has been very helpful though. I'm sending to the today or tomorrow and they are going to fix the problems for free. I just have to be without if for a week or so.
- Hp, Compaq, Toshiba, Acer, Gateway, Sony.... They are all basically the same. It's like comparing Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Honda, Mitsubishi. They have different options and differnent looks, but the overall quality is the same. You will always have people who have had bad experiences with a certain brand, and will swear that they are terrible. But in reality, they are all about the same for quality. The nice thing about HP/Compaq, is they have a lot of authorized service centers, so you can bring your computer in instead of having to sit on the phone with a customer service rep who doesn't understand english.
- I love my HP laptop. One of the best laptops out there, are Sony, Dell and HP. If you are using it for home use I would recommend HP because it is cheaper, it has personality, and the chassis are nicer. If you are using for business purposes I highly recommend Sony or Dell. They have top of the line hardware and software for all your needs. You can also customize them.
- I have an HP laptop and in terms of quality and value I am certainly impressed. It is a good solid laptop with decent specs while being quite affordable. In my experience, I have found HP's customer support to be better than many, including Dell. Given that, you really can't go wrong with any of the major brands out there (IBM, Sony, Dell, Toshiba). I will also add that I will never buy another HP again. They have this business practice where PCI devices (such as the wireless card) are placed on a hard coded list and only devices on that list can be used with your laptop. If you try to use a specific card that is not explicitly on that list, your laptop will not work. HP only includes a select few cards on this list, and generally you can only buy them from HP. This means if your wireless card breaks when out of warranty, you have to buy a new, overly expensive, card from HP. Or, if in a few years a new wireless technology comes out you will not be able to upgrade because that new card wouldn't have existed when HP wrote that list to your laptop. To the average user this probably does not matter and shouldn't effect your computing experience. To someone, like myself, who is really picky about such things, this can be a huge negative.
