Is there a website where I can compare digital cameras and camcorders?
I'm looking to buy a digital camcorder or camera. But I'd like to compare them. My requirements are that it's 5 preferably 7 MP or more and that it has a rechargeable battery. Anything beyond that I am flexible with. also price is a big issue with me. Is there a website out there where I can put in my requirements and they'll show me a bunch of cameras and camcorders that match my requirements?

- consumer reports magazine online
- compUsa.com
- 10 Mp is the better choice. Google "discount digital camera's" I did, and got a zillion hits, spent all day looing at them and then made my choice. Good luck
- Here's a great one.
- The dpreview website mentioned elsewhere is by far the best. But please do not let wise cracks tell you mega-pixels are all the rage - hogwash and tripe. Go to the dpreview site- its puts all in perspective.
- Try http://reviews.cnet.com/camcorders/?tag=cnetfd.dir and http://reviews.cnet.com/digital-cameras/?tag=cnetfd.dir
- Good camcorders do not generally take high-megapixel stills. Good still cameras that happen to take video store that video in a highly compressed MPEG2 or MPEG4 format. Lots of compression means not very good quality video. www.cnet.com has ratings for both, but they are measured differently. www.camcorderinfo.com rate camcorders and has current pricing comparisons, but not still cameras and most of the camera rating sites do still cameras, but not camcorders... Its a bit like comparing a Cadillac XLR to a Toyota Tundra. They are both vehicles, but should be used for different reasons, have different features and have different capabilities... I *could* try to haul stuff in the XLR, but I won't be very happy with what it can haul compared to the truck... or I can try to go fast and corner in the truck - but I won't be happy with what it can do compared to the XLR...
