my hp digital camera?

i really want to take some good myspace pictures like the ones you see on the layout sites but the only camera i have is my hp digital camera so what are some good tips?? oh and heres my camera sorry its so small: http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z202/lovckmnstr/hp.jpg

1. turn it on, press the shutter button half way down till the frame in the window turns green, and shoot. I have a HP R742 digital cam. and it takes perfect pictures....
2. It really doesn't matter what camera you have. You can create amazing pictures with a point-and-shoot and you can also get terrible pictures with a $10,000 camera. Just find something you're passionate about, and start shooting. Try downloading Gimp, a free photo editing software, and play around with your photos and see what you can create. ~C
3. Well, that is just sad, actually wanting to take myspace style pics. tch,tch. Try this. First you need good light. Try to not use flash, but natural sunlight works best, or use a couple of lights in front of you off to the sides a bit. Dont use on camera flash closer than 10-12 feet. Best bet for actual shooting, is to get someone to do the camera work for you. Its easier over all, when it comes to composition. However if you want to do the "self pics", set your camera on a tripod, or a steady surface while using your cameras timer function. I would advise against doing the shooting yourself while holding the camera. The closer your camera to you, the greater the distortion effect. If your camera has a macro setting, that could work, but you will have to very steady while presing the shutter release. Read your camera manual, to find the minimum distance that you can shoot in whatever modes your camera has. If you can set up a mirror behind your camera, you can check your pose, so you dont end up with the standard myspace goofy "is my camera working" look. You can check your clothing, pose angles, smile, etc..., with a mirror.
