really good and slightly cheap digital cameras?

i think im gonna start saving up for one, right now i have a HP digital camera, i bought it way back in 2004 and it eats up batteries like crazy, i can take pictures for about 10 minutes with it before it dies. some things i would like are a timer and good battery life. i just need some ideas! i forgot, id like a fast shutter speed too, right now mine takes forever to take a picture!!

Look at Canon they are reasonably priced compared ot many other brands, have heaps of features and are some of the best quality cameras you can get. They are the only digital cameras that i will buy. Do not get Kodak or olympas because their cheaper cameras are rubbish they are not good quality and the canon cameras have a higher picture quality. Even with the cheaper canon cameras you can't go wrong so just pick whatever one you like or you can afford and it will be a good camera

I would like to highly recommend the purchase of a Nikon Coolpix L10 for the following reasons: 1. Besides taking well-exposed hi-quality 5 megapixel pictures, it uses a standard set of rechargeable double AA batteries which last a very long time; 2. Has a 3x optical zoom; 3. The flash setting for "red-eye" correction is on the navigator wheel and not within a submenu; 4. It's very small and light; 5. Uses inexpensive SD memory cards; 6. The digital video feature takes wonderful "sound" videos which are noise free. It records the piano very well with it's built-in microphone; 7.
