have an hp digital camera i put the vids on my computer, one day i couldnt open them they show up as pvm files

help, they r vids of our only baby

1. A .pvm file is a photo album created with Hewlett-Packard digital camera software. It contains a list of images imported from an HP digital camera, often named "album.pvm" or "index.pvm." This file type is used by HP Image Zone Express, which has been replaced by Photosmart software. My guess is that you should open the .pvm files with your HP Photo software, instead of attempting to open them directly. Is it possible that you recently removed the HP Photosmart software from your computer? If you're unable to open the files in the Photosmart application, I'd suggest re-installing the software that came with the camera. I realize that's not a very definitive answer, but I'm unable to find more details online -- though I've seen several people with the same problem.
