Why can some sites sell Digital cameras so cheap?

I am looking for a canon Digital camera, when I google it I can a huge variety of sites selling the camera for as much as a 1000 dollar difference? Are the camera's all the same quality?

I bought a cheap digital camera at Target a couple of years ago, thinking they were all the same. Boy, was I wrong. Poor picture quality, and little color was all I got.
the cameras that are that cheap, may be overstocks, bought in bulk or even refurbished cameras.
The more Money The Better The Quality. the best camera I have ever owned was $549 and it still wasn't the most exspensive I've also had 100 & 200 dollar camera's that are great

It depends on where they get them from, for how much money, how much money they have backing them up (so they can afford to make less of a profit), as well as plenty of scams and false advertisements. Always be sure to read the small print describing the product, before you buy it.
